A fictional sample book. Science fiction.
A City Beneath the Stars
Every evening at seven, the city turned to face the stars.
For eleven minutes the planet slipped beneath the horizon and the windows of a million apartments caught the same thin band of gold. Iona used those minutes to water her basil. On the evening the message arrived, she forgot, and the plant was the first to know that everything had changed.
About the story
On a city built into the ring of a distant planet, an archivist receives a message sent by her future self. It contains three names, a departure time, and a request she cannot understand: leave the lights on.
Hopeful science fiction about memory, chosen family and the small things worth carrying into the dark.
